We're two sisters raised right here in Manchester, VT. When summer jobs at the horse show vanished thanks to COVID-19, our parents swooped in with a sweet solution. A vacant storefront downtown became our chance to run an ice cream shop in the summer of 2020 – a way to earn college funds.

It all began as a pop-up shop (Mom's nickname!), but your amazing support kept us scooping year after year. We reopened in 2021, 2022, 2023 and now we're back for another fun season in 2024!

While mom switches the space over in the fall and transforms the building into a breakfast and lunch spot under the Nipper’s Cafe name, we'll keep serving up delicious burgers, ice cream, and more from May to August to help us conquer those college costs and now pay for a trip to Europe. Bella graduated in 2022 and Hannah just graduated 2024.

Mark your calendars! We opened May 9th, 2024 to September 4th, 2024.

A Year of Growth:

  • 2022 brought exciting changes! One sister graduated and chased her dreams in Boston, while the other sister teamed up with Mom and Dad to run The Cold Cow.

  • 2023 was all about expansion: we added a lovely patio in 2022, and last year, we're proud to offer beer and wine (cheers!). We've also expanded our ice cream service with a dedicated back window for even faster scoops.

Dine In or Out: The cozy indoor space is ready to welcome you, or soak up the sunshine on our new back patio or sit out front at the picnic tables!

We can't wait to see you and share our shop with you! Just remember:

  • Food and Ice Cream Hours May Differ (be sure to check our signs!)

  • Rain may prompt early closures. With the new indoor dining we should stay open more.

Get ready for a summer of sweet treats and good times at The Cold Cow Creamery !!!
